For grown-ups
This episode introduces your child to three ways the Holy Spirit works in us: the fruits we grow by staying close to God, the seven gifts given at Baptism, and the personal charism that's unique to each of us. It's a lovely chance to name aloud the good you already see blooming in your child — and to remind them that God equipped them on purpose, for a purpose.

Here I Am

Have you ever heard someone call your name in the middle of the night? Young Samuel did — three times! Every time, he hopped out of bed, ran across the cold stone floor to Eli the priest, and said, Here I am! But Eli hadn’t called him. Someone else was calling Samuel by name, Someone he had never heard before. Come along to the First Book of Samuel, chapters 1 through 3, to meet Hannah, who prayed for years for a baby boy, and the boy who learned to say, Speak, Lord, for Thy servant hears. Where in the World Is Paul? Suit Up!

A letter just came in the mail, and it’s about two thousand years old. It’s from Paul, who walked, sailed, and got shipwrecked (more than once!) telling the world about Jesus, then wrote letters to his friends from all kinds of places. So before we read this one, there’s a mystery to solve: Where in the world is Paul? Grab your magnifying glass and follow the clues. Come along to Ephesians, chapter 6, and suit up in the whole armor of God! Be Still

God’s people are finally free — until they look back and see every chariot in Egypt racing after them. In front of them, the sea. Behind them, Pharaoh’s army. Nowhere to go. But the God who has been leading them all along, as a walking pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, isn’t finished yet, and Moses tells the frightened crowd exactly what to do: The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be still. Come along to Exodus, chapters 13 and 14, to walk on dry ground right through the middle of the sea, and to practice being still with the God who always leads the way.
